This section has photos of created pieces and also contains photos that show a bit of process if that is of interest to you. Most of the finished works are also found in the sections which contain my design work, since many of these were also projects for which I designed the costumes. Some of the puppet pieces have videos which can be accessed in the media section. If any of this is of interest and you want to know more about any process, please feel free to contact me.
Audrey II puppets for Little Shop of Horrors Dickinson College and Greenbrier Valley Theatre spring and summer 2022
Dickinson College and Greenbrier Valley Theatre both planned their productions of Little Shop in the same season so we decided it would be a great sustainability move to share the puppets between the two productions. One issue was that Dickinson's production wanted to highlight the performer of Audrey II, so we needed a structure that could allow this to happen while GVT wanted a more traditional eat-the-actors-but-with-a-hidden-manipulator puppet so there are significant differences between the two final puppets. Puppet two required a few tweaks because we had a left handed performer in one production, and a right handed performer in the other. There was also a change in mechanism in puppet one. Both productions were challenging in terms of the performance space and the size of the larger puppets and Dickinson's set overwhelmed the puppets with scale in many ways but still had small clearances for making scene shifts. The audiences still seemed to enjoy a plant with a taste for humans in both cases, though.
